Eclectic café is hiring for a Full-Time Janitor Position! Apply in person at 4058C Minnesota Ave NE Washington DC. Come in between 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm to inquire.

Summary

Eclectic Café is searching for candidates for our Porter/Janitor position. In this role, you will be responsible for the restaurant's cleanliness and appearance, plus handle minor repairs.

Candidates with a desire for increasing responsibility are preferred for this position.

Essential Functions

• Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc)
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Make adjustments and minor repairs
• Stock and maintain supply rooms
• Cooperate with the rest of the staff
• Follow all health and safety regulations

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment

• Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing manner
• Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
• Requires the ability to lift/push objects weighing over 40 lbs
• Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers
