JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT
JOB SUMMARY:
The Junior Accountant is an entry-level position. Candidates will be responsible for general accounting functions including various functions of accounts payable, tenant accounting and accounts receivable.
Potential candidates should have the ability to process invoices and record cash receipts. Accuracy, timeliness, acute attention to detail and organization are critical for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES & FUNCTIONS:
Accounts Payable:
- Input all invoices to accounting system upon receipt.
- Issue checks and send them out for payment.
- File paid invoices in property-specific vendor folders.
Tenant Accounting:
- Input tenant charges (estimates, bill backs, and misc. billings) into system at tenant level.
- Double check that system matches intent of charges.
- Run monthly rent-ups for each property for Property Manager.
- Work with Office Administration to prepare and mail payments.
- Input cash receipts for tenants on the day received.
- Apply applicable receipts to tenant charges.
Accounts Receivable:
- Assist with year-end closings.
- Assist in filing all G/L documentation in property-specific folder.
- Assist in monthly report copying and mailing.
- Assist VP of Accounting with special projects.
EXPERIENCE AND KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Detailed accounts of financial transactions and receipts.
- Previous experience of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
