Join us as a Junior HR Business Partner
As a Junior HR Business Partner (HRBP), you will join a team of high functioning HR professionals who support BBH’s Private Banking, Investment Management, and Infrastructure businesses. As a Junior HRBP, you will serve as a point of contact on questions and issues from employees, managers, and Partners across the firm, and will advise the business on various HR policies and procedures. We also look to this role as one that will also make recommendations on how we can better serve our clients as well as how we can improve our processes. The role will collaborate and partner closely with various HR centers of excellence, including Employee Relations (ER), Talent Acquisition (TA), Compensation & Benefits, Talent & Development (T&D), HR Operations & Reporting, as well as with various HR partner functions such as Compliance, Risk, and Finance.
Specific areas of support will include fielding general HR inquiries and directing them to the appropriate HR team, managing our staffing headcount process with Finance, partnering with Recruiters to track and report on Talent Acquisition activity/progress, supporting various reporting requests, and executing changes to employee job titles/grades. This role will manage our Goal Setting and Mid-Year/Year End performance review processes and may also support basic employee relations issues around performance management. Importantly, this role will also oversee the tracking and reporting of annual promotion processes.
This role will be a hybrid position and can be based out of our New York, Boston, Philadelphia, or Charlotte offices.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • In conjunction with the Sr. HRBPs, support execution and implementation of HR strategies, which support the Line of Business goals
  • Support Sr. HRBPs in advising managers on HR programs, processes, and initiatives such as Performance Management, Headcount, Talent Acquisition, promotions etc.
  • Serve as a point of contact on HR questions and issues raised by employees and managers
  • Consult with appropriate HR teams on various business issues ranging from salary recommendations, staffing, and training, employee relations and general inquiries
  • Act as first level support on Recruiting-related issues
  • Support the Sr. HRBPs on talent identification and development processes and initiatives
  • As appropriate, act as first level support for Employee Relations issues; partner with ER team to stay appraised of any issues and escalate as needed; collaborate with the ER team to identify potential issues identified during the exit process
  • Oversee/Manage the administration and reporting of HR transactions for the business (e.g., requisitions/hiring, terminations, re-orgs, job changes etc.)
  • Coordinate various information/data requests and works with HR Reporting to create custom reports for business needs
  • Ensure HR transactions, reports and records are created and maintained, in compliance with established procedures
  • Oversee/Manage Promotion programs with the business by advising on process and application, and responsible for tracking and reporting
  • Oversee/Manage the maintenance and upkeep of job family structures and descriptions within the business
  • As needed, provide support for campus programs (summer interns and co-ops)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 3+ years of relevant Human Resources experience within financial services; proficiency with various HR functions and processes
  • Knowledge of BBH business areas strongly preferred, with an ability to be viewed as a credible partner to the business
  • Exceptional relationship management and interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully negotiate and influence; ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent reporting and data analysis capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word, with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily
  • Demonstrated client focus and strong action orientation, with an ability to think independently and creatively, and take ownership of critical issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proven ability to manage time, priorities, and projects
Total Rewards:
BBH’s compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $80,000 to $110,000, which is specific to New York, NY and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
