SUMMARY

The Key Account Sales Manager is responsible for retaining assigned key customers and nurturing relationships over time. They are a strategic partner and advisor to the customer and will discover new opportunities to work together for mutual benefit. The Key Account Sales Manager will work within the company to ensure deadlines for the client are met and help the client succeed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Develop, establish, and maintain productive and professional relationships with key personnel in all assigned customer accounts.

· Identify the best opportunity for growth and service to the customer.

· Resolve key customer issues and complaints.

· Develop a complete understanding of the customer’s needs and curate custom offerings based on them.

· Anticipate account changes and be proactive in addressing them while also keeping the company informed.

· Strategically plan to improve customer results.

· Set sales targets and achieve them effectively.

· Understand the account’s strategy, market position, and budget.

· Provide excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction.

· Maximize profit by up-selling and cross-selling.

· Prepare annual sales budgets with expenditures for assigned accounts & territories.

· Develop an annual calendar of account events and propose a budget for those events. Attend all meetings, trade shows, and conventions required by the company.

· Monitor and analyze the performance of accounts & territory and suggest improvements.

· Provide quarterly and annual sales forecasts.

· Provide timely and effective solutions that align with customers’ needs.

· Provide all information necessary to the marketing department and sales support staff in a timely manner in order for them to design and produce all presentations, promotional materials, selling material, trade show material, POP, catalogs, and any backup information required.

· Stay-up-to date with new product launches and ensure that assigned accounts, territory, and partners are informed and presented with accurate pricing and product specs.

· Represent Brown’s in a professional and positive manner.

· Work closely with Brokers/Reps to keep the focus on Brown’s by providing them with the direction to maximize growth and sales on established accounts & territory and agreed-upon prospects.

· Develop a strategic, viable prospect target list.

· Communicate new market information and competitive intelligence.

· Identify and analyze trends and sales patterns.

· Plan, organize and problem-solve.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Communication: Excellent communication in person, over the phone, by e-mail, and across TEAMS.

· Education - The position requires a High School Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree in Sales/Marketing preferred. At least 5-10 years of demonstrated sales experience.

· Negotiation Skills- Demonstrated success with negotiations that result in a mutually agreeable outcome for both the customer and company.

· Computer Skills – Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and In Design are a plus.

· Language Skills – The ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language. Be able to write routine reports and professional correspondence using correct grammar.

· Math Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

· Time Management Skills- Advancedability to plan, prioritize and perform tasks.

· Leadership Skills- Includes relationship building, agility and adaptability, decision making, conflict management, and critical thinking.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS – Must be met by an employee to successfully perform the job.

· Regularly required to sit; frequently required to stand and/or walk.

· Regularly required to talk and/or hear.

· Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

· Must be physically able to set up booths or stands at trade shows and stand for specified periods of time at trade shows and other events.

· Specific visual abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

· Travel by commercial flight airplane will be required as a means of transportation to long-distance customers.

· Travel by car will be required as a means of transportation for short and long-distance customers.

· Prior Grocery experience required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT – While working in this job, the employee is regularly exposed to noise levels typical of an office environment. Time is regularly spent on customers’/prospects’ premises, driving in a car, and working out of a home office. Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Additionally, the employee is occasionally exposed to the production environment where the environment can be hot and humid or cold, with exposure to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places, with fumes and airborne particles; and the noise level may be very loud.

· Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for several hours at a time required.
