POSITION SUMMARY

As Kitchen Manager, you are responsible for leading our kitchen team to ensure delivery of high-quality food that consistently adheres to recipe specs. You will inspire positivity, ensure proper safety and sanitation practices, adhere to standard operating procedures, and take pride in the growth and development of each member of the kitchen team. Your time will also be spent controlling labor and scheduling, training, food costs, and inventory management.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing FOH and BOH shifts to ensure high standards in food & drink quality, cleanliness, and service.
  • Following all opening and closing checklists for FOH and BOH, including prep lists.
  • Scheduling labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
  • Ensuring that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and severing standards.
  • Properly preparing for specials and new menu rollouts.
  • Effectively building trust with employees, management, and owners through good communication, leading by example, and providing honest feedback.
  • Ensuring that all equipment is kept clean and in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventive maintenance programs.
  • Effectively training employees to meet our standards in service, quality, cleanliness, and sanitation practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook, and expeditor.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisor/manager role in the kitchen and FOH.
  • Culinary training preferred.
  • Ability to manage a large team while delegating tasks and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke, steam, and heat; able to work in a confined area.
