Kitchen Manager – DO YOU LOVE TO COOK? DO YOU LOVE TO CREATE A FAMILY LIKE ENVIRONMENT NOT ONLY WITH YOUR MEALS BUT WITH YOUR PRESENCE? Family House is the only teen shelter in Ulster County, NY. We are in need of a Kitchen Manager who is able to prepare a variety of balanced and nutritious meals, desserts, and snacks, for young people who are striving to overcome crisis. Meals will be prepared as required by CACFP, funding sources, and according to the program’s schedule. This person will help to keep the kitchen, dining room, and basement food storage areas, as well as all appliances and utensils, clean and organized. This individual will label leftovers with disposal dates, shop for food and household supplies, and handle light clerical work. The Kitchen Manager will attend relevant meetings and trainings, prepare foods for staff meetings and special functions, (such as: Holidays, Open Houses, birthdays, etc.,), with additional tasks to be discussed. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant and commensurate experience with food preparation, a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, a yearly health statement, and background clearances from the State Central Registry and the NYS Justice Center.
