Job Summary
The Laboratory Technologist acts as Processing Team Leader at Charles River's NHP (non-human primate) Quarantine and Holding operation in LaBelle, FL.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks and be familiar with the regulations associated with the receipt of animals into quarantine, transfer, distribution, and processing of animals
- Collect, process, pack, and complete animal shipments or pre-screen animals for future shipments
- Meet customer requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Provide care for laboratory animals
- Perform and be proficient in basic technical skills (i.e. treatments, collection of biological samples, TB tests, etc.)
- Work closely with Veterinarian(s), Veterinary Technicians, and other senior level Technicians to ensure efficient operation of the Lab, and completion of tests and documentation related to customer requests
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- NHP (non-human primate) Experience Strongly Preferred
- 5-6 years' experience in a laboratory animal facility, plus ALAT certification, or
- 4-5 years’ experience in a laboratory animal facility, plus LAT certification, or
- 3-4 years’ experience in a laboratory animal facility, plus LATG certification, or Veterinary Technician (CVT or VTNE)
- Must have demonstrated ability to perform independently and work cooperatively with a team

- Working with Primates: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:
- ALAT, LAT, LATG, or Veterinary Technician certification (Preferred)
