Summary

The Laborer is responsible for carrying out logistics, equipment and material handling and assisting with installation of work, all under the direction of jobsite supervisors.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Laborer will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive, and effective manner.   • Participates in Training/Certifications
  • Install insulating materials
  • Anchor or brace wooden structures, frameworks, or forms
  • Build or repair structures in construction, repair, or manufacturing setting
  • Cut, shape, fit, or join wood or other construction materials
  • Dig holes or trenches for foundations, posts, poles, or related items
  • Finish concrete surfaces
  • Grade or redistribute earth for roads or other construction
  • Install prefabricated building components
  • Measure and mark lay out for construction projects
  • Operate jackhammer
  • Operate pneumatic tamper to patch pavement or tamp earth
  • Operate power construction equipment
  • Perform safety inspections in construction or resource extraction setting
  • Repair cracks, defects, or damage in installed building materials
  • Use concrete fabrication techniques
  • Use measuring devices in construction or extraction work
  • Verify levelness or verticality, using level or plumb bob
  • Apply plaster, stucco or related material
  • Understand construction specifications
  • Mix mortar, grout, slurry, concrete, or related masonry material
  • Prepare site or surfaces for concrete or masonry work
  • Mix paint, ingredients, or chemicals, according to specifications
  • Paint walls or other structural surfaces
  • Prepare building surfaces for paint, finishes, wallpaper, or adhesives
  • Use basic carpentry techniques
  • Use hand or power woodworking tools
  • Use spray paint equipment
  • Use hazardous disposal techniques
  • Use hazardous materials information
  • Adhere to safety procedures
  • Clean equipment or machinery
  • Fabricate, assemble, or disassemble manufactured products by hand
  • Apply adhesives, caulking, sealants, or coatings
  • Apply cleaning solvents
  • Assist mechanic, or extractive or construction trades craft worker
  • Load, unload, or stack containers, materials, or products
  • Lubricate machinery, equipment, or part
  • Move materials or goods between work areas
  • Operate power driven pumps
  • Position, align, or level machines, equipment, or structures
  • Read tape measure
  • Read work order, instructions, formulas, or processing charts
  • Signal directions or warnings to coworkers

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training.
  • Driver's License or State ID
