Professional Landscape Architect/Designer:_

Through the Garden, Inc., an award-winning landscape architecture, design and construction firm is seeking a full-time and/or part time professional landscape architect/designer. To qualify, candidates must have formal training and 3-5 years of design experience in the design of hardscapes, water features, lighting and plantings. CADD design capabilities in AutiCad or Dynescape are Required. Substantial sales and installation experience is preffered_

The job description includes:

· Using creativity and the beauty of nature to create a harmonious, aesthetically pleasing, and functional designs. Design capabilities to include all elements in landscape design, pools, ponds, outdoor living spaces, lighting, plantings, etc.

· Planning the finished product, tying in new features with current ones, by designing it to scale. These drawings will be very detailed including specification, contract scope, and construction details.

· Performing site analyses that include the assessment of current plants, soil conditions, lighting, the view, and architecture style of the house.

· The ability to communicate well both with clients and other types of workers (contractors, supervisors, etc) on the landscaping team.

· Researching topics with respect to technical elements, guidelines, and codes.

· Perform design/proposal presentation to customer to discuss the project, complete with charts, sketches, and so forth.

· Reviewing plans, proposed changes, and any other necessary documents.

· Oversees progression of the project to ensure that it is going as planned.

We are looking for strong creative design talent in a motivated self-starter who is capable of working independently. Through the Garden, Inc., operates throughout the Western Washington D.C. Metropolitan area in Northern Virginia and Maryland. This is a design position and compensation is salary based. Health, Dental and Vision insurance is available.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
