We are looking for Seasonal Associates for the 2023 season including Landscape & Install Crew, Nursery & Greenhouse Associates, Farm and Events Crew, Retail Customer Service Cashier & Loader, and Café Crew.

Most of our seasonal positions will work from mid-March until the end of July, weather dependent. Hours will average 16-24 hours per week with more hours available during events and peak selling periods. One weekend shift is required weekly.

Colonial Gardens will be holding a Hiring Event on February 20th and 21st from 10 am to 2 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm on both days. Come join us at 27610 E. Wyatt Rd., Blue Springs, MO on these dates to receive an immediate onsite interview!

Colonial Gardens, located in Blue Springs, MO, was added to our brand family in 2016. Founded in 1969, renovations began in 2017 to create an agritourism destination. It is the garden center, reimagined! We offer a greenhouse, nursery, café and coffee shop, event space, and farmer’s market. It’s where plants, food and farms connect. Educational classes promoting local agriculture and sustainability as well as private events are also offered.

Key Responsibilities:

• Professionalism – Represent yourself positively as an extension of DCA outdoor on the jobsite. Stays calm under pressure, always be polite, and show respect to team members and customers
• Time Management – Work with a purpose, accomplish assigned tasks in a timely fashion, and prioritize responsibilities to make sure the job is accomplished efficiently
• Execution – Execute installations in a timely fashion, complete installation jobs that will reflect positively on you, your team, and DCA outdoor

Essential Job Duties:

• Install trees, shrubs, and other materials according to the landscape design6
• Develop and maintain good relationships with homeowners by practicing respect towards the people onsite and the property being landscaped
• Ensure proper use of tools and equipment to complete scheduled projects in an efficient manner
• Ensure trucks and trailers are cleaned out and loaded for the next project
• Observe safety guidelines and protocols

Minimum Qualifications:

• Required: High school education or equivalent
• Required: Valid driver’s license
• Potentially Required: Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and work in an outdoor & indoor work environment
• Preferred: Experience in and passion for Horticulture, Agriculture, Nursery & Greenhouse, or related field
