Landscaper/Maintenance Job Summary
Sunset West Condominiums is looking for an experienced and diligent landscaper to join our tea. You must be comfortable operating lawn maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers, and understand how to water, fertilize(earth Friendly) and pruning all types of plants. Sunset West Prides itself in keeping our arboretum grounds safe and looking beautiful, so our team works in various types of weather conditions to ensure everyone’s safety.
Landscaper Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mow, edge all lawn areas, prune trees and shrubs.
- Maintain the existing landscaping design and ensure plant survival.
- Maintain irrigation system. (some additional training provided)
- Plant new flowers, bushes, plants, and decorative shrubs.
- Rake fallen leaves and remove debris.
- Properly store and handle all equipment, tools, sprinklers, etc.
- Oversee maintenance repairs to equipment, landscape structures, and hardscape walkways.
- Forward thinker using horticulture expertise.
- Create fresh and new future ideas.
- Self-starter, ability to make decisions.
- Reports directly to general manager.
- Team environment often sharing work projects.
- Ability to interface with condo community.
Landscape Maintenance Requirements and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 18 years old.
- Horticulture experience preferred.
- Experience in landscaping or grounds keeping.
- Experience in plant care and plant maintenance a plus.
- Must be able to operate lawn maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers, chainsaw, power washer, without restrictions.
- Pass a background check and present a current physical.
- Ability to stand, bend, and squat for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

SW is a complex of two buildings with a combined total of 156 owner occupied apartments and 10 acres of beautiful landscaped grounds. The development is over 50 years old. The Sunset West Home Owners Association employs staff directly and hires a management company to handle its administration and financial operations.
