Professional Property Management (PPM), Inc., a corporation owning and managing apartment complexes in multiple locations in the Greater Des Moines area is looking for a full-time Landscape Technician-Lawn Chemical Applicator at our Sun Prairie location in West Des Moines! Applicant should be a licensed lawn chemical applicator or be able to acquire licensing within 30 days of hire and possess knowledge of grounds equipment maintenance.

Summary of Position

In the Landscape Technician-Lawn Chemical Applicator role, you will perform landscape maintenance and chemical application to turf, trees, and shrubs. Snow removal will be an additional responsibility in the winter months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and reliable attendance
• Maintain lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and trees by operating spreaders, sprayers, chain saws, weed eaters, and hand tools applicable to the season
• Performing basic pool maintenance
• Performing snow removal using a shovel, tractor, or skid loader
• Assisting with end-of-month turnover and the emergency maintenance on-call rotation

The qualified applicant will need to be able to, with or without accommodation*:

• Read, analyze, and interpret printed materials
• Complete basic math functions
• Climb stairs
• Lift and/or move objects up to 60 pounds

Hours of work will be 8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday through Friday with rotating on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance work is not required; however we prefer two (2) years’ experience in commercial grounds maintenance
• 18 years of age
• Valid Iowa driver’s license required at time of hire
• Vehicle liability insurance coverage of $100K/$300K/$100K in place at time of hire
