Laundry Aide
Primary Responsibilities
A Laundry Aide performs day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department following the current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern long term care facilities.
Essential Functions
Coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services when performing routine assignments.
Sorts laundry by proper category and loads articles into washers and driers.
Sorts and counts articles removed from dryers, folds, and hangs articles on carts and distributes.
Labels personal laundry, slings as directed.
Cleans and disinfects floors, appliances, folding tables, delivery carts and laundry areas.
Assures proper storage of supplies and that proper equipment is available and in good repair.
Ensure established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials.
Report any repair needs to supervisor as appropriate.
