Law Library Director

The University of Maine School of Law, in the thriving and increasingly diverse coastal community of Portland, Maine, invites applications for the position of Law Library Director. The Law Library Director is primarily responsible for managing all aspects of the Donald L. Garbrecht Law Library, including determining and administering library policies and programs to accomplish the law library’s mission of educating students, supporting faculty in their teaching, scholarship, and service, and providing assistance to the legal profession and the wider community.

The position of Law Library Director is a full-time faculty position within the School of Law. The start date is negotiable. Rank and salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Required:

Applicants must possess a Master's degree in Library/Information science, a J.D. degree or its equivalent, administrative experience in an academic law library, experience with student and faculty services, and a record or promise of successful teaching and student mentoring.
