Additional essential information we want you to know about this role:
  • Our role within Employment Investigations is to conduct investigations into allegations raised by employees and customers relating to Title VII allegations and employee misconduct. The type of allegations raised can be claims of sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, etc. and may also include multiple allegations worked in one primary case.
  • The role requires the ability to work multiple cases at the same time and fully document all investigative actions and steps taken in a case management system. The objective is for the investigator to paint a full picture for their reader of how the case was worked and how they arrived at their conclusion.
  • Additionally, strong decision-making skills are imperative in this role, as is the ability to be able to "operate in the gray" as the investigator does have autonomy in how they work their cases and may need to analyze multiple policies and procedures when making their case determination. The investigator will have responsibility for appropriately identifying which policies and procedures might have been violated in their cases. Investigators "own" their case work and should be able to appropriately defend their decisions and show how they landed on their conclusions.
  • Investigators are expected to gather all evidentiary materials on cases and exhaust all resources to fully investigate the concerns alleged in the case. Simply put, we expect our investigators to do a lot of digging and research prior to case closure.
  • This includes conducting interviews, researching, and analyzing data, and documenting how the case was worked through detailed case notes and report writing.
  • Strong writing skills are essential in the role, as is the ability to help any readers of your case logically understand how you reached your conclusion.
  • This role also requires strong partnership with Line of Business leaders, Employee Relations (ER), etc. and strong consultation skills.
  • Investigators are expected to follow specific procedural and policy guidance throughout the lifecycle of the investigation, so the ability to be flexible and adapt to change is critical, as procedures and guidance are frequently updated.
  • It is important to note that a significant amount of managerial oversight is necessary in this role, requiring a quality control review & manager approval before each investigation can proceed with necessary partner engagement or investigation closure.
  • We are looking for candidates who can regularly adhere to complex business procedures and policies, which are updated regularly.
  • Employees on this team are also expected to regularly give, receive, and apply feedback. You should be comfortable receiving feedback from multiple sources, as cases are reviewed by peers and managers.
  • Finally, investigators must be able to multi-task and prioritize multiple work activities.
