Position Summary:*

The QC Group Lead is responsible for overseeing a small team of Quality Coaches. This team’s mission is to maintain the high quality standards associated with all SitOnIt Seating™ and IDEON™ brand product lines. Training all Quality Coaches on critical quality points related to each unique product. Additionally, the QC Group Lead will contribute toward building and enforcing internal and external quality standards.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:*

  • Maintain and update QC Lab processes, procedures and documentation; ensuring all operations are compliant with applicable safety and quality assurance standards and specific Engineering/sourcing contract requirements
  • Perform technical accurate dimensional inspection of office furniture products and parts using a portable CMM, spectrophotometer and other inspection tools (gages, calipers, micrometers, etc.), verifying conformance to engineering drawings and specifications requirements
  • Develop and support meaningful KPIs to track operational efficiency of the receiving inspection and lab concerning overall performance using Power BI
  • Manage non-conforming components or material, ensuring applicable quality records are filled out and maintained
  • Identify source of trouble and solicit help to resolve quality issues prior to introducing parts and materials to production. Clearly communicate quality issues both written and verbally to the appropriate parties
  • Provide coaching to QC Lab personnel working at the BP and ICW locations, identify training opportunities for Quality Coaches as new products are developed and launched
  • Work with Quality Engineers to keep the quality standards and applicable documents up to date
  • Collaborate with engineering on dimensional issues found in CAD
  • Perform in-line chair inspections to ensure quality levels are met prior to shipment and participate in field repairs as needed
  • Participate in problem solving activities with cross-functional departments and present action plans to all levels of the organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Skills and Education

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience working in Quality or furniture manufacturing
  • Strong Communication skills written and verbal
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Power BI software
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to operate independently and within a team

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Non-temperature controlled factory environment
  • Ability to work overtime and travel as needed
