Summary

The Leader Corporate Emergency Management oversees the APS Emergency Management Program (EMP) by planning, developing and directing activities related to APS emergency response and ensure their effectiveness in responding to significant or catastrophic emergency events. Oversees and maintains procedures and protocols for emergency response.
Coordinates staff and resources for internal and external drills and training exercises. Fosters enterprise-level coordination for APS Business Area Emergency Event Response and Recovery Plans and develops partnerships with government agencies, organizations and related entities.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS or BA degree in related field and four (4) years security, emergency planning/preparedness or business continuity planning or related experience,
  • OR high school diploma (or equivalent) and eight (8) related experience.
  • Broad emergency planning knowledge and program execution and/or training experience required.
  • Proficient with Incident Management related software, and ability to effectively instruct others on its use.
  • Effective communications skills and outstanding training ability.

Major Accountabilities

1) Oversee and maintain governance over the APS Emergency Management Program by planning, developing and directing APS activities related to Emergency Event Management.

2) Manage the development, implementation of Emergency Management related procedures, resource documents, forms and lists.

3) Oversee the development, and delivery of Enterprise-wide Emergency Evacuation procedure and training. Ensure oversite is maintained on the BEC roster and supporting resources.

4) Oversee the development, and delivery of employee training related to Corporate Emergency Operations Center operations and Incident Management.

5) Coordinate with the Company's different business areas to provide support and consultation during drills and training exercises for their Emergency Event Response and Recovery Plans as well as help identify gaps in their plans.

6) Coordinate internal and external drills and training exercises to foster enterprise-level coordination for APS Business Area Emergency Event Response and Recovery Plans with government agencies, organizations and related entities.

7) Coordinate with APS Business Area Operations Centers for enterprise-wide drills and development and drill/exercise scenario MSEL details as appropriate to the drill, players and organizations involved. Perform post-drill gap analysis and lessons learned reports.

8) Oversee the implementation of emergency-event response self-assessments, conduct corrective action follow-ups, and evaluate and implement industry lessons learned, Ensure complete and timely department response to internal/external concerns.

9) Act as the APS liaison for real world events and exercises involving outside entities.12) Provide regular status reports on Company's emergency preparedness maturity level to the Director of Corporate Security.
