Seeking an experienced manager of legal operations to design, implement, and maintain evolving process and technology solutions supporting our Legal Department. Work with leaders and team members across the organization to maximize operational efficiencies and manage day to day operations.

Success in this role will require strong attention to detail, a high level of professionalism, a customer-service oriented mentality, and ability to work well with people at all levels inside and outside the company (including clients, outside counsel, consultants, and vendors). React with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick response or turnaround. Think creatively and strategically while exercising strong judgment. Be proactive and innovative in solving problems. Over time, this position is anticipated to grow into leading and managing support staff.

What you do

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the company's Legal Department.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to projects critical to the organization.
  • Participate in strategic planning, including development of departmental goals/initiatives. Help identify, design, and implement processes and tools for better managing the Legal Department and its work.
  • Manage multiple Legal Department projects. Create project plans which align with business goals and ensure adherence to project plans (e.g., tracking and achieving milestones).
  • Coordinate with General Counsel and Legal Department leaders to develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for technology and process improvement initiatives, taking responsibility for driving those initiatives through implementation.
  • Develop and report on key operational and substantive metrics for the Legal Department, resulting in better informed decision-making and meaningful reporting to senior management.
  • Ensure knowledge management and organization of corporate and legal records.
  • Act as a liaison for the Legal Department with corporate support functions, including IT, Finance, Facilities, and Human Resources, as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Legal Department leaders to plan and prepare annual budgets.
  • Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.
What you bring

  • Bachelor's level degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required
  • 4-7 years overall relevant experience required
  • 2 or more years of in-house legal department experience desired
  • Paralegal certification or JD desired
  • Experience implementing process improvement, legal transformation, and legal technology initiatives desired
  • Experience creating systems and processes in support of the efficient distribution of legal advice to a broad set of stakeholders desired
  • Experience developing legal training materials and organizing corporate/legal records desired
  • Experience working in a diverse work environment with geographically dispersed client groups desired
  • Experience working with Microsoft Teams, Legal Tracker, Hot Docs, and GEMS desired
  • Experience managing projects utilizing standard project management methodologies and/or project management certifications desired
  • Experience in performing feasibility assessments, gap analysis, build vs. buy analysis, process map design, and business case development desired

Salary range $72,633 to $108,950/year
