The Legal Secretary will work closely within the Claims Department to manage and support the company's litigation and claims assisting in all aspects of litigation including file maintenance, management and organization of medical records; discovery (including electronic management of documents and data, preparation of documents for production in response to document requests and assistance with preparation of written discovery responses); management of the departmental litigation calendar; interfacing with defense counsel; and other duties as assigned. Excellent experience providing litigation and administrative support relating to liability and other insurance claims and suits as well as excellent organization skills are required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Five years related legal secretarial or assistant experience
  • Accurate typing and data entry skills; 60 wpm
  • Excellent organization and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Working knowledge of software used by department.
