The University of Virginia Library is seeking a new Library Stacks Coordinator at Ivy Stacks, the Library's high-density storage facility located one mile west of Central Grounds.

The Stacks Coordinator will work with a small team at Ivy Stacks to ensure materials housed in the storage facility are readily accessible for Library users. This will include using an order picker forklift to retrieve requested materials and shelve returned items on a daily basis, receiving and transporting Library materials from multiple library branches using a 16-ft box truck, and processing materials using the Library's circulation and storage management software. The incumbent will communicate with other Library branches and departments to ensure timely and efficient delivery and transport of materials. The Stacks Coordinator will also play an integral role in ongoing and special projects at Ivy Stacks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • At least one year of previous professional work experience

  • Willingness to learn to use Library's integrated library system, SirsiDynix Workflows, and storage management software, CaiaSoft.

  • Ability to become licensed to operate an order picker forklift

  • Valid Virginia Driver's License or the ability to receive a Virginia license within the first 90 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two years of work experience in a library, customer service, or warehouse setting

  • Experience with Library systems software or warehouse storage management software

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

  • Ability push, pull, and move heavy carts

  • Standing and walking for at least 6 hours a day

  • Ability to fold cardboard trays and install small plastic handles

  • Ability to operate order picker forklift after training and licensing
