Salishan Coastal Lodge is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Massage Therapist to join the team at their Award Winning Spa. This position is part-time and commission only.

Summary

The Massage Therapist delivers professional, therapeutic and rejuvenating massage therapy and body treatments on-site to spa guests while being a productive and active Team Member of the Spa and exemplifying SCP’s Culture and Core Values. To deliver professional, therapeutic and rejuvenating massage therapies and body treatments to spa guests while being a productive and active team member of the Spa.

The Licensed Massage Therapist shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will be responsible for exemplifying the SCP’s Culture & Core Values.

The Job

  • Anticipate client's needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and at whatever time of day.
  • Observing clients' reactions and conferring frequently with team members to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Maintain positive client relations at all times. Resolve client complaints to over-the-moon satisfaction.
  • Follow Hotel policies with lost and found items.
  • Adhere to Hotel requirements for guest and team member accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
  • Continuously promote sanitation, safety, and security efforts.
  • Encourage Social Media/5-star compliments or reviews on OTA.
  • Embrace and exemplify the SCP Culture & Core Values in your day-to-day job duties.
  • Greeting and treating clients with compassion and kindness.
  • Collaborate with clients on stress and pain in order to create a treatment plan.
  • Ensure that clients have a full understanding of the services they receive and are comfortable prior to beginning treatment.
  • Provide quality, safe, consistent and ethical messages to all clients. During the service, check with the client regularly to assure the client's comfort and pressure of massage. Check with the client on room temperature, amount of light, music and any other aspects of the client’s experience that can be adjusted for their comfort.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate treatment records of clients.
  • Providing quality, safe, consistent and ethical messages to all clients; refraining from diagnostics or medical advice.
  • Ensure clients comfort by offering water, checking on pressure, checking on music, light and temperature control
  • Cleaning, maintaining order and preparing for the next guest/Team Member; Treatment rooms are always left in a clean presentable fashion.
  • Completing side work (ie. separating linens, refilling massage products, stocking, etc.)
  • Participating in required trainings and monthly/quarterly staff meetings
  • Abiding by all National and regional Board of Massage Certification regulations and guidelines
  • Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service.
  • Maintain knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Fluency in other languages is beneficial.
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and empathy.
  • Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Professional in appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work within POS, PMS, CRM, and other Hospitality specific software systems.
  • Must have general computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems and/or conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.


Education and Experience

  • Some College preferred.
  • Prior experience in a Spa environment required.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED Certification preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of healing benefits of massage therapy.
  • Local and/or state Licensed
  • Minimum 550 hours massage education and 2 years of professional experience is preferred


Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis.
  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
  • Must be able to climb stairs occasionally, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
  • Must be able to work in variable room temperatures.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
