Heartland Behavioral Health Services has been providing care for children and adolescents for over 100 years in Nevada, Missouri. We treat male and female patients ages 4 through 17 in both acute as well as residential programs for conditions ranging from depression, anxiety and other mood disorders to recovering from a traumatic event. The Therapist position provides individual, family and group psychotherapy to patients/residents and their families. Demonstrate the ability to practice independently as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP). Elements of DBT and Trauma Informed Care provide the therapy treatment model.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintain adequate documentation in a medical record for all clinical intervention. Adhere to policy and procedure regarding documentation and billing practices.
• Completes group therapy, individual and family therapy sessions as assigned.
• Demonstrates an ability to practice effectively, independently and has specialized training in an area of interest or is in the process of acquiring training.

QUALIFICATIONS (skills, knowledge, abilities):

1. Knowledge of the professional principles, practices and techniques of psychotherapy as they apply to patients/residents undergoing psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation.

2. Minimum of a Master’s Degree in psychology, social work or counseling and working toward licensure.

3. Licensure from the State of Missouri to practice independently as a clinician in stated field, i.e., LCSW, LPC, Psy.D. Ph.D., or under a state approved supervision plan, or under supervision of a licensed therapist within the facility.

4. Two years experience in psychiatric inpatient setting preferred, practicum/internships within a mental health setting.
