Position Description:
South Lake Brewing Company is looking to hire several full-time Line Cooks to help operate our small kitchen and prepare food for customers at our new location, the Libation Lodge.

The persons applying for this position must have at least 1 year of experience cooking professionally in a commercial kitchen as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook. Formal culinary education is a plus but not required.

The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare and cook food and meals for our customers at the Libation Lodge under the direction of the head chef. Our kitchen is roughly 300 square feet in size and the food menu will consist of elevated pub fare with a focus on Pacific Rim cuisine. We will serve primarily large portion shareables/appetizers and hot sandwiches with a mixture of healthy and fried sides.

This job requires the availability of 40 to 50 hours a week for 5 consecutive days a week. The Line Cooks will work at the 2nd tasting room & kitchen - The Libation Lodge - located in the Tahoe Village Center. Persons applying for this position must be able to speak, read, and write in the English language.

This job is a paid hourly position with the ability to earn tips. Starting hourly rate depending on experience is between $21.00 and $23.00 an hour. Line Cooks will report to the Head Chef of the Libation Lodge.

This job will start as soon as possible ideally no later than late-February 2023. This person is required to pass a minor background check. This person must be 21 years of age or older and have a High School diploma or a GED.

Responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

Report to the Head Chef on a daily basis and follow their instructions on tasks needed to be complete during the shift

Help prepare, cook, and plate high-quality meals and menu items according to the Head Chefs exact specifications and instructions while following SLBCs recipes and standardized kitchen procedures

Setting up prep stations and kitchen are fully set up and stocked with food items and other necessary supplies

Prepare food items and components of the menu by cutting raw ingredients, chopping food, mixing ingredients, and preparing sauces

Cook food items by grilling, frying, sauting, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standardized procedures with the help of the Head Chef and fellow kitchen team members

Plate and hand off food orders to Front-Of-House staff in a quality and timely manner

Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage of extra leftover food and raw ingredients

Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces during and at the end of shifts

Receive in food deliveries and add into inventory management system

Perform inventory checks and complete food storage/temperature logs

Have the ability to multi-task and perform several kitchen tasks simultaneously - manage multiple food orders/tickets at the same time

Communicate well with fellow team members and management mostly in-person or but sometimes via other methods of communication (phone, email, text, Slack messages, Homebase, etc.)
