Line Cook Job at Pizza Pusha
Our client, a restaurant, bar and lounge in Hackettstown, NJ is looking to hire a line cook.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
· Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
· Prepare cooking station(s) for use, ensuring equipment is ready and food is stocked for service.
· Cook menu items under the guidance of Sous or Executive Chefs, and in coordination with the rest of the kitchen staff, ensuring that dishes come out simultaneously, in high quality, and timely fashion.
· Clean up stations, properly store and label food.
· Take stock of inventory and necessary supplies, and alert sous chef or executive chef if ingredients are needed for following shift.
· Make sure food preparation and all storage areas align with health and safety standards
· Properly handle leftovers and unused food or ingredients, according to safety standards.
· Make sure all raw food is handled properly and with care in order to avoid contamination and/or cross-contamination
· Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
· Allergens: Follow all standards to ensure allergens are not introduced in dishes where they should not be; follow special orders, ensuring allergens are removed or not introduced, according to the order.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: 1-3 years' experience cooking for a full-service restaurant
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends and nights.
