Sophia's Kitchen (sophiasaz.com) is an Italian restaurant in north Scottsdale and a member of JGP Restaurant Concepts. We are seeking BOH individuals experienced in a full service restaurant to join our team. Our cuisine includes both classic Italian dishes (pasta, seafood, wood-fired pizza) and modern favorites (bruschetta, panini, etc.). Qualified candidates will have experience operating in similar environments.

We are open daily at 11am for both lunch and dinner. Both Daytime and Evening Shifts, either Full or Part-Time available.

We are located off the 101 and Bell Road at 17050 N. Thompson Peak Pkwy, Scottsdale AZ 85255 (NW Corner of Thompson Peak Pkwy and Bell Rd).

Line cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Skills

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Familiar with industry’s best practices

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
