Seeking experienced Line and Prep Cooks who have a passion for food and a strong attention to detail. Experience in running a grill, sauté and fry station, a plus. This person should also be able to follow and convert recipes for meal preparation. We are seeking an individual who has experience in the food service industry and is committed to impeccable food preparation and presentation and a driven positive attitude with the willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. Our Prep & Line Cooks are key players in ensuring we are serving the best quality food to our guests. Duties include completion of daily prep list; preparing a variety of hot and cold food items; washing, peeling, slicing measuring and mixing ingredients; assembling dishes and working with the kitchen team to distribute food to our service staff. Teamwork is essential and is what we are all about at Valhalla!

Responsibilities and Duties

Requirements:

  • Must represent Company Vision and Values
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Previous prep or line cook experience preferred
  • Love food!
  • Hard-working, team player
  • Basic knowledge of professional cooking and experience in knife handling
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 6 hours in length
  • Ability to work within the following conditions: wet floors, temperature extremes, and loud noise
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions
  • Ability to perform essential functions to Company standards with reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends and holidays
  • Ability to communicate clearly with managers and team members

Responsibilities:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Prepare menu items according to house recipes and production numbers
  • Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours
  • Follow standard recipes and special diet orders
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
  • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and appliances

Qualifications and Skills Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in cooking and culinary arts Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
  • Good knife skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well in teams

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
