The Lithotripsy Technologist is responsible for supply and inventory management, scheduling patients, and monitoring and operating a variety of imaging equipment. Monitors patients, prepares rooms and trays for procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Transport medical equipment to various medical facilities to include loading and unloading of all pertinent equipment to perform the procedure
  • Assist Urologist in the identification of calculi and accurately position patient for the treatment
  • Monitor vital signs until the patient is ready to go home
  • Document required case activities in accordance with company policies while adhering to HIPAA guidelines
  • Participate in activities to ensure the safety of the patient
  • Provide the patient and family with instructions for follow-up care, answer questions
  • Completes other assignments as requested and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate (required) or Bachelor’s (preferred) degree in Radiologic Technology
  • CRT or ARRT Certification required
  • 1-2 years of X-ray technician experience
  • Knowledge of anatomy, kidney function, imaging techniques such as MRI and CT scanning, pathology, and radiation safety
  • Meets applicable health requirements to provide patient care

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
