JOB DESCRIPTION

The Locksmith is responsible for skilled, repair, and service of locks, electronic access equipment and related hardware.

• Performs preventative and/or corrective maintenance on new and existing locks, locking controls, doors, and other equipment in accordance with work orders or direction from Facility Manager and/or Supervisor.
• Installs, repairs and maintains pneumatic locking systems, door Positioning Sensors, electric door, and manual and electronic panic devices openers.
• Installs, repairs, and maintains electro-magnetic latching systems; wires and installs card reading and scanning devices.
• Establishes key lock and related systems which permit controlled access to buildings and ensures security.
• Cleans, lubricates, and adjusts locks; checks keys and locks for wear and repairs or replaces them.
• Responds to emergency requests regarding problems with building locking devices and services within established standards of promptness.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION

• Minimum three to five years’ locksmith or maintenance experience in commercial environments.
