Join the Zeiss team in White Plains, NY, to provide support for the efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of customer and corporate goods and merchandise from both international and domestic corporate, vendor, and customer entities. Ensure regular information flow to and from logistics partners and the organization. Ensure adherence to all corporate and governmental regulations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Use ERP system (SAP) and other platforms to indicate an order has shipped, record serial numbers, freight charges and update notes with shipping information.
  • Partner with finance and 3rd party auditing company to ensure freight invoices are paid and coded to appropriate GL’s and Cost Centers.
  • Measure performance of carriers by providing Logistics Management timely feedback.
  • Arrange for the transportation of assigned products for domestic or international locations.
  • Work with offsite warehouses regarding distribution of inventory.
  • Support transportation requests for demonstration inventory from field sales and internal personnel.
  • Create reports in Excel based on KPI’s and Global Logistics Management needs.
  • Partner with various cross-functional colleagues in Product Centers, US ZEISS entities, and/or order fulfillment to provide support and/or assess any issues.
  • Project engagement and ad-hoc activities as requested by management.
  • Associates degree preferred and/or training in transportation.
  • Experience with logistics and/or carrier.
  • Experience with domestic and international freight modes, including LTL/FTL
  • Knowledgeable about INCOTERMS® a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • SAP experience preferred and must be PC literate in Microsoft products.
  • Ability to learn quickly and retain detailed information.
  • Able to prioritize and complete multiple tasks timely and efficiently.
  • Comfortable working autonomously, with minimal supervision as well as working with a team.
  • Ability to prepare data in Excel in a concise and succinct manner.

Working Conditions and Special Demands:
  • Good analytical skills; including math skills - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Extended computer screen time on a regular basis and primarily a sedentary position with minimal lifting.
  • Ability to work in intercultural teams.
  • Fully vaccinated from COVID - 19 by FDA-approved (full or emergency-use) vaccine.
The hourly range for this contingent worker position is $35 - 45/Hr. The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
