San Jose Behavioral Health is currently seeking a LPN/LVN to assist the nursing staff with comprehensive inpatient care and treatment within our new 80-bed Acute Psychiatric Hospital San Jose Behavioral Health. Responsible for the safe and efficient dispensing of doses of medication to patients consistent with the organization's procedure and as ordered by the Medical Director or Physician. Perform job duties with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.

San Jose Behavioral Health is an 80-bed inpatient mental health facility where adults and adolescents can receive comprehensive inpatient treatment for a range of behavioral and mental health disorders. Conveniently located in the heart of San Jose the hospital is easily accessible to residents in Santa Clara County, San Mateo County, and Alameda County. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and administer medication as ordered by the Medical Director or Program Physician accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate accounting of all medication received (from supplier) and dispensed (to the patients).
  • Chart medication administration in nurse's notes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Document nursing care provided, maintain appropriate records related to patients' progress and activities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the safekeeping of all medication stock and the records required by the DEA, FDA and ADP.
  • Responsible for urine collection, processing, documenting and reading test results as ordered by program physicians.
  • Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers and others in an effective manner.
  • Follow the policies of the organization, as well as federal and state laws and regulations.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required.
  • One or more years of nursing experience within clinical areas of service provided by the facility preferred.

COMPENSATION

Compensation for roles at San Jose Behavioral Health varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, San Jose Behavioral Health provides a reasonable hourly range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California as set forth below.

SJBH Range = $29.00/hour - $44.50/hour - DOE
