MACD Technician/NEC Technician Job at By Light Professional IT Services LLC
Overview:
By Light is seeking an NEC PBX Technician to support Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletions. This role will perform technical phone, voicemail, and trouble ticket support as part of a service desk team that supports the VA in West Haven CT on site.
Responsibilities:
- Work customer issues from ticketing system delegated by site manager.
- Provide ad-hoc on-the-job training demonstrations of industry standard MAC techniques to VA OIT employees, covering the termination, tagging and troubleshooting of cable management and the Voice Systems.
- Expectation is to complete all MACD services within 24 hours of ticket notification.
- Escalate high-priority incidents to the Lead or Supervisory IT Specialist and management as appropriate via the ticketing system, email, phone, or other means as needed.
- Perform moves, adds, changes and Deletions (MACD) which will be initiated by VA Service now helpdesk tickets and assigned by VA OIT Unified Communications Infrastructure Support (UCIS) staff.
- Voice network MACD tasks include site relocation, telephone station relocation (Moves), new phone installs (Adds), phone key data modifications (Changes), and service deletion (Deletions) at assigned locations.
- Provide weekly moves, adds, and changes report to the project manager.
- Remain current with NEC products.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- NEC Certification - NEC SV9500, UM8700
- High level of knowledge – NEC MA4000 (UCE Manager), NEC UG50, Service Now
- Cable management knowledge and punch down tools
- Knowledge of NEC OW5000/UA5200/GNAV
- Tier 2 Public Trust
- By Light does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters; vaccination requirements and testing are subject to the status of the federal contractor mandate and customer site requirements; testing is at the cost of the employee.
- Lift 50 lbs.
