We are currently hiring for a second shift bag machine operator to run a high-speed machine that automatically measures, prints, cuts, folds, and glues or seals material, typically paper, to form bags.

2nd shift - Monday - Friday 2pm-10:30 pm - $19.00/hr - 21.50/hr

Must be willing to train on 1st shift 6am-2:30 pm

Bag Machine Operator Duties and Responsibilities

  • Thread material from parent roll through guides and rollers to cutters, gluer, printer, folding device, or electric sealer.
  • Start machine, observe operation, and adjust machine to ensure uniform shearing, printing, folding, gluing, or sealing of continuous roll of material into finished bags.
  • Ensure quality product is being produced by making the necessary adjustments to the bag machine and checking quality throughout the process.
  • Maintain the bag machine and the immediate area to keep the department neat and orderly including following cleaning procedures.
  • Shut down and clean up the department at the shift’s end.
  • Performs troubleshooting and basic maintenance on equipment, creating maintenance tickets for non-standard issues.
  • Sets up the materials in preparation for the next day's production schedule.
  • Responsible for the overall quality of the finished product.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Bag Machine Operator Qualifications and Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain lift truck certification.
  • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions in English. Ability to complete forms as required for the job.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
