Responsibilities

• With limited supervision, performs intermediate level machining of parts and tools, typically on more than one machine.
• Sets up and operates all available machine tools and performs progressive machining operations on work involving close tolerances.
• Understands qualities of metals and alloys and applies that knowledge to parts being machined. Understands and comprehends all forms of technical documents including: blue prints and drawings, written specifications, charts, tables, etc.
• Skillfully uses all machinist hand tools and measuring instruments.
• Fits and assembles components as necessary.
• Sets up and lays out own work from blueprints, sketches and written specifications according to requirements.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years related experience, training, licenses/certification or demonstrated ability to perform described position responsibilities
• Moderate physical effort consisting of standing, twisting, bending and frequent lifting, moving or turning average weight material is required.
• Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Possess strong math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, including decimals and fractions. May also be required to effectively use personal computers, data management systems and software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.21 - $28.60 per hour
