JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Mail Clerk Rock Island Arsenal Clock Tower (Special Assignment/ Program Trainer)
JOB FUNCTION: Organize, prepare and disseminate mail, perform general clerical duties, transport by vehicle mail and client workers to assigned locations.
REPORTS TO: Mailroom Manager of RIA Mailroom
LOCATION: Clock Tower Building, Rock Island Arsenal
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively support and further the Mission of The Arc.
- Follow all office practices and procedures and proper mail room activities.
- Complete mail room operations, maintain quality standards and promote positive work environments
- Complete all assigned paperwork and forms in a timely manner.
- Provide general clerical coverage for all assigned mail room activities which include the following:
- a. Deliver all certified and registered mail.
- b. Have all certified and registered mail signed by designated Corp employee.
- c. Deliver all U.S. and inter-office mail.
- d. Pick up all out-going mail.
- e. Deliver all UPS packages.
- f. Other activities as assigned.
- Maintain mailroom forms, supplies and equipment to ensure government standards.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding government information.
- Drive own vehicle to pick up and deliver mail and individual workers.
- Fill in for Government Mail Clerk Program Lead when absent.
- Assist / cover shifts / fill in at other sites as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Clerical experience preferred
- Strength and flexibility to lift equipment and supplies
- Ability to interact professionally with others.
- Current drivers' license and proof of current insurance required.
- Experience in programming with individuals with developmental disabilities or other specialized population preferred.
- Certification: Direct Service Provider certification preferred or the ability to obtain within 120 days of employment.
