TAYS is seeking a Mainframe Performance/Capacity Administrator to join our high-performing tech team in Baltimore, MD. The role is currently remote.
What You'll Get to Do:

  • Perform real-time Sysplex/CEC performance monitoring with documented root cause analysis including diagnosis of system and application bottlenecks.
  • Propose, schedule and conduct proactive tuning recommendations to streamline the throughput of mainframe workloads while maintaining system stability.
  • Monitor system performance quickly in response to various request types.
  • Conduct performance testing analysis of end-to-end system and program product upgrades.
  • Conduct performance analysis of various client business application testing.
  • Identify production workload profile changes, summarize, and communicate to management for further analysis and planning.
  • Conduct after-hours support for the performance problem-determination issues and activities.
  • Participate in various mainframe strategic initiatives with peer groups and business unit representatives including Proof of concept and client's strategic tests and recommendations.
  • Determine performance recommendations to provide optimal application throughput and system availability.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience
  • General knowledge of WebSphere Servers
  • Required knowledge of RMF3, MICS and/or MXG, and Omegamon
  • Preferred knowledge of lntelliMagic Vision
  • Ability to assist with the implementation of corporate strategies for new technology
  • Ability to assist with the development of corporate technology standards.
  • General knowledge of Mainframe CICS and WMQ software infrastructure.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to current and future system software requirements.
  • Ability to consult on Engagement Model based on 5 critical phases: Scope, Design, Build, Deploy, Evolve
  • Familiar Quality Assurance Requirements for new software and technology
  • Experience with Capacity Management and Performance Management processes
  • Experience using MS Office, and proficiency with Excel, SAS, MICS
  • Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance
  • Must reside within 2 hours of Woodlawn, MD or Raleigh-Durham, NC
