Camp Shady Brook, a branch of the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region, is a residential camp located about 70 minutes northwest of Colorado Springs.

The CSB Facility Coordinator manages the daily operations in regard to building and grounds cleanliness and maintenance. The CSB Facility Coordinator supervises the maintenance/housekeeping staff. Ensure an attractive and well-maintained facility by performing assigned janitorial/cleaning, repairs, and maintenance tasks related to the upkeep of buildings and grounds following established routines and instructions. A degree of creativity and latitude is expected in order to complete a wide range of technically complicated tasks. The CSB Facility Coordinator reports to the Center's Executive Director. This position is a full-time, year-round, hourly position with benefits.

All YMCA staff positions require certification in American Red Cross, ASHI, or American Heart Association CPR/AED-Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration.

MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • High school education or equivalent
  • 2 years of hands-on general maintenance experience
  • Must be able to read, write and follow instructions.
  • Basic computer skills (email and work tickets) are essential.
  • Must be able to see cleanliness and the need for when areas to be cleaned.
  • Must be self-driven, able to take initiative, and work alone and with others.
  • Possess basic aptitude and experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pumps, HVAC, lock repair, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and ability to work at various locations in camp.
  • Must be flexible in work scheduling to fulfill a variety of work shifts including weekends and shift schedules (morning, noon, night) on occasion.
  • Applied knowledge of procedures, safety measures, and commonly used concepts within multiple facilities disciplines is required. Lead Maintenance staff will rely on experience and judgment to accomplish tasks.
  • Knowledge and experience in housekeeping, building maintenance, hiring and development of staff, and financial management.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships by promoting and demonstrating caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility with staff, lay leaders, YMCA members and program members and the general public.

MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruits, supervises, and develops housekeeping and maintenance staff, and assigns duties as required.
  • Responsible for developing, conducting, or hosting training for staff.
  • Is responsible for staying within budget guidelines.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and repair issues.
  • Orders housekeeping cleaning products, consumable paper products, etc. necessary for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the facility.
  • Serves as a member of the Center team, fulfilling duties such as planning, and coordination with program schedules, team building, and staff meetings.
  • Assists with the annual support campaign.
  • Leads by example, personally leading and/or assisting in cleanliness and maintenance tasks/projects.
  • Coordinates renovation and/or refurbishment projects as assigned by the Center Executive Director.
  • Coordinates with program staff for the set up and break down of activities and related equipment.
  • Assumes responsibility for center risk management related to the facility and grounds.
  • Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Center Executive Director, as pertains to property management.
  • Responsible for snow removal.
  • Responsible for management of facility contracts, vendors, and other outside services rendered by the YMCA.
  • Responsible for all facility codes’ compliance and systems to ensure safety.

SALARY RANGE: $20.00 - $25.00/hour, full time, non-exempt position *Single occupancy onsite housing available
