W2 Contract for 6 months with opportunity for extensions.
Pay rate: $27.71 – $30.71 per hour

Job description:

The goal within the Maintenance Department is to maintain plant electrical/mechanical systems and equipment in a safe and reliable manner.
The Maintenance Department's function is to provide outstanding customer service to the manufacturing and support groups in all areas of the plant through preventative/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and upgrading of plant processing, packaging, and the filling line equipment.
In addition, Maintenance Department personnel serve as a technical resource to the plant, division manufacturing and engineering groups.

Main responsibilities:

  • Housekeeping of the shop is primarily the responsibility of everyone working in the area.
  • Maintaining various hand tools and equipment (drills, winches, micrometers, calipers, torches, welders, lathe, mill, multimeter, etc.)
  • Repair gear heads and reducers.
  • Run all types of piping including black iron, stainless steel, copper, PVC, and flexible tubing.
  • Install various components including seals, bearings, o-rings, gaskets, adhesives, belts, chains, rollers, sprockets, gears, and sheaves.
  • Troubleshoot repair/rebuild centrifugal/positive displacement pumps.
  • Troubleshooting complex, high-speed filling, packaging, and conveying equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair barcode scanners and video-jet ink printers.
  • Weld stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, fabricate guards, etc.
  • Out-of-sheet metal and Lexan.
  • Cutting of metal with a plasma cutter or torch.
  • Wire and repair electric motors
  • Repair basic wiring and replace lighting fixtures and lamps.
  • Correctly size fusing motor overload protection and wire size per National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Read electrical schematics and wire directly from wiring diagrams.
  • Use of electrical and precision tools to complete assigned work.
  • Make machine adjustments to liquid line seamers, bottle sealers, and bottle cappers.
  • Adjust timing systems such as rotary sterilizers.
  • Ensure proper operation of electrical/mechanical components and devices (push buttons, switches, timers, solenoids, electrical disconnects, AC and DC motors).
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable FDA (GMP), USDA, OSHA, and the company’s regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Attend to applicable training needs to maintain consistent service to production equipment/areas of focus.
  • Maintain appropriate records of work, keep inventory of spare parts and materials and provide Supervisor with needed information associated with parts or special materials needed to effectively perform repairs on all equipment.

2nd Shift:
Monday to Friday, from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
Must be flexible to meet business needs and work occasional overtime, weekend, or extended hours.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, Trade School or Equivalent (GED, HSED) is required
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance on equipment/facilities, determining repairs needed and preventing unsafe conditions.
  • Proficiency in performing repairs to production equipment and plant utility systems.
  • Experience following regulations such as FDA (GMP), USDA, and OSHA.
  • Electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Record keeping abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
