General Position Description:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance Manager this position is responsible for the proactive maintenance equipment monitoring, work order scheduling, planning and training for the Hoisington facility. Manpower scheduling for all shifts and for both production and support equipment. Assists with maintenance operations and repair activities; establishes work schedules and prioritizes activities of one or more crews and ensures that work is completed as directed; performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities and performs related work as required.

Description of essential job functions:

  • Maintains and updates the backlog work order list. This entails checking on work completed, parts status, accurately estimating required repair time and effectively communicating with all pertinent parties.
  • Serves as a predictive, preventive, planned, emergency and scheduling coordinator, including establishing predictive and preventive schedules, scheduling predictive equipment monitoring, prioritizing and assigning preventive work, determining preventive allocation and training personnel in work procedures.
  • Generate required documentation for established preventive maintenance, scheduling, cost savings, monthly departmental reports and training.
  • Inventories and may order supplies, equipment and materials for projects, including determining appropriate supplies and materials and locating vendors; may provide input into budget requests in areas of assignment.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Manager or designate.

Qualifications for this position:

High school diploma, GED, or Kansas WorkReady Certificate is required.
Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Intermediate level computer skills in MS Access, Word, Excel and Power Point.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Experience with facilities maintenance department employees and job functions (preferred)

Understanding of maintenance troubleshooting procedures.

Ability to effectively coordinate people.

Ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
