Job Title: Maintenance Technician 3rd Shift

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

FSLA Status: Hourly

SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment. Supports and complies with predictive, and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives. Expected to consider Safety, Quality, Service, and Profitability objectives at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be Safety orientated
• Must be able to maintain and perform scheduled PM’s on equipment safely and efficiently.
• Must be able to repair malfunction of bearings, gear boxes and understand cam drives.
• Basic knowledge of the elements of electricity with the ability to detect, fix and troubleshoot electrical.
• Must be able to identify electrical problems on frequency control panels, safety relays, power supplies.
• Must be able to read basic electrical drawings on equipment, read pneumatic and hydraulic drawings.
• Troubleshoots electrical and or mechanical problems, use and understand a complex multimeter.
• Knowledge of plumbing and pipefitting such as threading and sweating pipes.
• Must be able to cut metal to include stainless steel.
• Member must be highly motivated and maintain high performance levels
• Participates in the Preventive maintenance of all plant equipment.
• Assist with new equipment installation and or equipment relocation. Ability to use hand held tools.
• Supports Maintenance of facilities and equipment to meet MS, OSHA and U.S.D.A. standards.
• Improves uptime of facilities through machine modification, adjustments, and machine maintenance.
• Maintain all record keeping, general housekeeping and follows company policies and applicable laws.
• Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience with GMP's, HAACP, sanitation, process improvement, plant safety programs, and quality assurance.
• Must be able to complete PM documentation paperwork accurately.
• Basic Electrical experience/understanding is required. Willingness to learn is essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Ground beef experience preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• 2-4 years of experience with preventive maintenance systems in a manufacturing facility
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Industrial maintenance experience is preferred.

• Must be able to distinguish colors to safely identify electrical wiring.
• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Stand on concrete surfaces, and can be exposed to indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to noise from equipment.
• Climb stairs and ladders.
• Must have the ability to work in a refrigerated environment of 35 to 45 degrees F.
• The job is fast paced and the employee will need to have the ability to deal with stress is essential.
