Purpose: To perform routine preventative and corrective maintenance and installation of electrical systems, HVAC and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Under general supervision, diagnose, replace, repair, assemble, install, test and maintain various electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, pumps, fans, low volt lighting, gates, security equipment, fixtures, heat pumps, air conditioning units, electric heat strips, hot water heaters, domestic refrigerators, water colors, ice machines, generators, window units and ventilation systems to ensure compliance with codes.
• Monitor, inspect and maintain designated buildings and structures and coordinate repair with supervisor.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components.
• Work as a member of the maintenance team on various projects, perform electrical and perform HVAC general maintenance and construction.
• Perform work on-call during weekends on a rotating basis
• Create and close out work orders related to maintenance task, including labor and materials cost tracking
• Participate in weekly planning meetings.
• Assist with special events at MFBG and in Lake City as needed.
• With managerial approval, source, procure and purchase tools, supplies and equipment related to duties.
• Operate standard hand tools, power equipment, testing devices, drills, air compressors, ladders and heavy machinery and perform occasional heavy lifting.

Reports to: Operations Manager

Requirements:

• High school graduate with vocational/technical school training in electrical courses.
• Three to five years experience in troubleshooting, repairing and installing electrical equipment; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Must possess or be eligible for a valid South Carolina Drivers License
• Must possess or be eligible for a certified Electrician's license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Willingness and ability to perform physical work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, carry, climb, push, stoop, dig and to load and unload various objects
• Ability to operate various power tools and heavy equipment.
• Must be available for occasional weekend work and overnight travel.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills
