Position Title: Management Trainee Salary/ Hourly: Hourly


General Summary

The Management Trainee will train with the Supervisors and Plant Manager in the overall management and coordination of plant operations and productivity objectives. Works under general direction of the Plant Manager; exercises discretion and judgement on work priority on a regular basis; and high degree of creativity is expected.


Requirements Knowledge

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma/ GED required
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience as a production manager, supervisor or equivalent
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Detail oriented, analytical, ability to problem solve
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Forklift operator certification is required (can be trained)
  • Working knowledge of shipping trucks capacities and understanding trucking needs (scheduling and booking trucks)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will help develop the master production schedule and shipping schedule as well as coordinating production activities between shifts and other functions.
  • Establishes quality standards for operations and initiates and manages quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures the plant is properly staffed to meet production levels and goals.
  • Ensures appropriate production data is entered into the system.
  • Manages raw material, in-process and finished goods inventories and coordinates inventory requirements with management consistent with inventory levels/ turnover goals and coordinates month-end inventories.
  • Responsible for ensuring the yard meets Company conditions and is laid out for efficient operations.
  • Analyzes production operations and initiates corrective actions to ensure efficient product flow.
  • Develops and implements specific plant policies and procedures as required.
  • Helps ensures the plant complies with HR Company policies and procedures and Federal, State and local laws, rules and regulations.
  • Helps ensure that plant operations are consistent with Company and OSHA policies practices and procedures.
  • Prepares various reports as required.
  • Performs other duties as required.
