As an elite leader of the Advanced Engineering team, you will be responsible for cross-functional interaction with the OEM design team to ensure accuracy in FOH digital assembly process and MBOM. As a Manager for the Advanced Engineering team this candidate will lead, mentor, and manage a team of Engineers.

This role provides exciting opportunity for the candidate to be part of Foxconn’s EV journey and grow with it.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide product design input to drive improved manufacturability and serviceability.
  • Ability to implement engineering solutions on manufacturing equipment based on product design and or design changes.
  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering team design, develop and validate new equipment and maximize efficiency by analyzing plant layouts, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple OEM customers.
  • Robotic simulations for BiW.
  • Virtual new program feasibility studies.
  • Advanced concept studies.
  • Lead virtual builds with OEM customers.
  • Create Process and Product Assy Drawings.
  • Process Simulate – Virtual process verification.
    • Human ergonomics analysis.
    • Robotics, automations, tooling.
    • Dimensional planning and validation.
    • Process design planning.
  • Plant and Material Flow Simulation.

Education and Ideal Experience

  • BS in Engineering (BSME, BSEE, BSIE…) or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Advanced Engineering or CAD design.
  • Skilled in CATIA V5/V6, Solidworks, NX.
  • Skilled in DELMIA preferred
  • Proficient knowledge of ergonomics in the automotive design process.
  • Experience in design and development of products within manufacturing.
  • Leadership experience and strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
  • Problem solving mindset.
  • Previous OEM and automotive experience preferred.
  • Previous assembly plant launch experience preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements preferred.
  • Hybrid or Electric Vehicle experience preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • The factory has both office area and shop floor area. The noise level in the office area is generally quiet. Wearing of personal protective equipment’s (PPE) when visiting the shop floor or when visiting a supplier’s manufacturing locations is required.

  • This position has the option of working from Foxconn’s Lordstown Ohio or Southfield Michigan location. If working from Southfield, business travel to the plant would be necessary when needed. Occasional remote work depending on project/program status.
  • Travel is minimal (10-20%) for this position if local to Lordstown.
