The Opportunity::
The Manager, Hardware Engineering leads the cross-functional project teams to deliver projects with maximum transparency and predictability in execution of engineering projects meeting target costs and schedules. They are the direct manager of a team of hardware engineers. They are responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues to deliver safe & effective results that meet external and internal customer requirements.
They are required to support multiple projects and will involve managing other cross-functional team members to ensure all procedures and tasks are carried out to the highest standard.
They are also responsible for Development and Safety certifications as required under relevant rules and regulations for hardware products developed in North America and other applicable regions.

What You'll Do at Enel::
Supervises engineers and technicians on activities for hardware product development including spec creation, schematics design, board layout, alpha testing, standardization, documentation, and certification.

  • Recruit other great engineers for your team and help in recruiting efforts for other teams
  • Be the mentor and coach for the engineers in your team and help them advance their careers and do the best work of their lives
  • Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high quality service levels
  • Support the team in maintaining a robust level of stability while continuing to deliver quality results at necessary speed
  • Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives at Enel X, e-Mobility
  • Project Management: Build, maintain and extend relationships across the department in a heavily matrixed environment and with all project stakeholders
  • Activity and resource planning
  • Organizing and motivating a project team
  • Timeline management
  • Resource time tracking and allocation
  • Analyzing and managing project risks
  • Cost estimating and developing a project budget
  • Ensuring alignment to customer specifications
  • Monitoring team progress against timelines/deliverables
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Managing reports and necessary project documentation
  • Communicating of project status (health, project timeline, issues, and risks, etc.) to appropriate stakeholders on a frequent basis
Who You Are::
  • Ability to function in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment within a global enterprise matrix
  • Ability to juggle multiple issues and projects and meet deadlines without reminders from others
  • Must be available to meet the operational needs of the business (Enel X Way is a global operation - will require some early AM and late PM conference calls due to various time zones)
  • Responsible and reliable, capable of working alone as well as part of a team
  • Must have excellent troubleshooting skills with a strong business orientation focus
  • Flexible and adaptable to change, to meet the needs of the product management team and other key stakeholders

  • A leader with demonstrated experience leading multinational project teams to completion of projects
What You've Accomplished::
  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a technical degree
  • 10+ years’ experience in Engineering Management
  • Ability to learn and share new skills and to apply them efficiently
  • Demonstrated success delivering effective people management & leadership with the ability to share skills and knowledge with others and to provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Ability to motivate a team to achieve results
  • Have a well-developed sense of self-accountability
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Atlassian and Google suites, experience with enterprise management software.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge in Software development is a plus
What Enel Offers You::
The hiring range for this position is $156,300 to $214,912.50 per year. For remote positions, this is based on a national average base pay for this role. For positions in California this range will be specific to the location in California. The actual range may vary based on the geographic location of the chosen candidate. For all positions, the base pay actually offered will take into account various factors, including internal equity and job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
