JOB TITLE: Manager in Training

REPORTS TO: District Manager

LOCATION: Flagstaff Area

POSITION SUMMARY:

Clean Freak Car Wash is looking to the fill our leadership roles for our Express Car Washes in the Phoenix area. As a Manager in Training (MIT)*, you will learn how to create success for a multi-million-dollar business and develop great teams that are focused on Serving Others. These foundational principles set leaders up for success in careers of site management and leadership.

  • Manager in Training Program: Mission statement of the program: To inspire and sharpen leaders in becoming culture-focused managers that are capable and willing to impact others around them through intentional one-on-one training. MITs go through the entire career plan in 90 days, learning how to be successful at the Site Manager position. While in training this position pays $18-$20hr.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (of a Site Manager after going through MIT):

  • Ability to successfully recruit and onboard new employees, train and coach staff, schedule employee shifts, with strict adherence to overtime policies, perform activities around employee engagement, performance management, and recognition
  • Maintain a focus on growing sales volume and increasing site profitability
  • Manage operating P&L metrics and understands how expenditures/costs impact business margins and pricing
  • Ensure that customers are satisfied and that any inquiries, incidents and issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Ensure the site follows all approved safety procedures
  • Ensure the site follows all approved vehicle damage claim procedures
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills including active listening
  • Experience with team building
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong work ethic and professional attitude

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two to three years of retail experience, with at least two years in a management role. Candidates with supervisory or assistant manager experience from a Big Box environment or auto industry, car wash or lube store are encouraged to apply.

For this position, an unexpired Driver’s License is required. Additionally, a motor vehicle record check “MVR” will be run on the successful candidate post-offer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

In performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk throughout the workday; use of hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stop, crouch and kneel. The employee must be able to work in damp and humid conditions. The employee must be able to work in outdoor conditions where temperatures can exceed 90+ degrees Fahrenheit during the summer and below zero in the winter to include all variable weather conditions. The employee may have to lift and/or move objects up to 25lbs on a regular basis and occasionally up to 50lbs.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures without endangering the health or safety of self or others.

This position works in a typical outdoor car wash environment. The noise level is usually moderate but can be excessively loud with hearing protection required (along with other PPE). This person must adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and protocols which means this person will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as, but not limited to hearing, eye, foot, hand protection.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

The team member must be capable of performing their responsibilities with minimal supervision.
