Overview:
As a Manager - Network Engineering, you are responsible for the management of TDS associates who are responsible for planning, engineering, coordinating and supervising engineering or construction activities in multiple locations and states. You are expected to work closely with representatives from various internal and external business partners to ensure that the needs of the company are being met. You will be responsible for the construction or engineering of network infrastructure while conforming to TDS and industry standards. You are expected to oversee numerous construction or engineering projects, located in multiple locations and states. You will continually monitor overall job progress to ensure that projects are completed on time, in scope and within budget. You are responsible for working with and advising on contracts related to the construction or engineering functions. You may be required to negotiate with municipalities, various regulatory entities and other utility companies from a network and a legal perspective.

This position has the ability to work remotely in any of the 40+ States in which TDS Telecom operates.

The pay range listed for this position represents the low and high end of the base compensation range. The actual offer amount will carefully consider multiple factors, such as relevant skills, qualifications, work experience, location and/or competencies that align with the specified role. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and equity awards.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides personnel management and manpower apportionment necessary for completion of network projects. This includes managing internal staff as well as engaging professional consultant engineers during peak periods. Focus is on personnel development through performance assessments, coaching, recognition, and process improvement.
  • Coordination of work load from associate assignment and task delegation through completion of the project as documented by project management tools. Ensure the coordination of projects and personnel is consistent with on time, budget and scope requirements.
  • Engagement of internal partners and external vendors and teams to clarify scope and coordinate timing of necessary work function. This includes building and nurturing relationships with all partners.
  • Interfacing with the Supply Chain and procurement or purchasing functions up to and including business ownership of contracts and contracted work.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (or higher) –OR-4 years of professional work experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in telecommunications or broadband related fields.
  • 3+ year's supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
Other Qualifications
  • Excellent leadership, customer relations and communications skills.
    Thorough understanding of Telecommunications industry and principals.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Excel and Office suite.
  • Knowledge of GIS and ESRi.
  • Advanced working knowledge of industry construction practices and engineering standards.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative and courteous manner with diverse work groups.
  • Must be self-motivated and self-reliant.
  • May be required to regular travel on an "as-needed" basis.
Benefits
Associates scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week have access to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off benefits such as vacation (15 days accrued per year for full-time; pro-rated for part-time associates working between 20-39 hours), sick leave (10 days accrued per year for full-time and pro-rated for all other associates), seven paid national holidays and one floating holiday, paid parental leave (2 weeks after 12 months of employment), among others. Short Term Disability and Long Term Disability coverage is also available for associates working 30 or more hours per week and Education Assistance is available to full-time associates. Associates scheduled to work under twenty hours per week or for a limited term (i.e. interns) are eligible for medical coverage, the 401(k) plan (if 18 or older), as well as sick leave (10 days accrued per year for full-time and pro-rated for all other associates). Pay Range: $87,800.00 - $142,600.00
