Our office provides leadership, coordination, expertise, and counsel for the development of consistent and timely communications describing Bowdoin’s policies, actions, activities, and achievements.
We work to enhance the College’s visibility and to strengthen public understanding of and appreciation for Bowdoin and a quality liberal arts education. We also strive to strengthen the College’s ties with its alumni, donors, and friends and to promote and protect Bowdoin’s interests and its place among America’s finest colleges.
Reporting to the vice president for communications and public affairs, the manager of marketing services functions as the campus liaison for the development and execution of effective marketing communications at the College and serves as a writer for print and marketing-related projects, including Bowdoin Magazine.

Salary Range for this position is expected to be: Minimum $80,000 – Maximum $85,000 per year.

Education/Skills Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Understanding of the culture of a small, highly selective liberal arts college and effectively articulating the College’s mission.
  • Four to seven years of experience doing similar work in a corporate or institutional environment.

  • Strong project management skills—Ability to work efficiently, juggle tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and follow through to achieve goals.

  • Off-campus access to the internet or College data for College business.
  • Available to work outside of business hours as needed.

Standard Work Days and Hours
  • Generally, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Attending and staffing events as required, including some weekend and evening work.
  • This role has the potential to follow a hybrid work model, with the option to work from home 2-3 days per week but will require an onsite presence in the Brunswick office.
