Manager, On-Site Training & Development Job at Confidential

The Manager of On-Site Training & Development is responsible for ensuring that newly transitioned on-site teams have proper training, processes, and tools to be successful in all aspects of field operations including leasing, residential management, and resident experience. They will formulate on-site operational strategies and training materials for newly transitioned assets. This role will lead on-site team members in the assigned positions to execute on defined strategies that enable the asset to meet or exceed budgeted financial goals and achieve operational objectives. The Manager of On-Site Training & Development will report directly to the COO.

Responsibilities

  • Create training curriculum by authoring participant materials, developing supportive learning activities, incorporating tools for evaluating curriculum effectiveness, and producing SOPs & visual aids needed for implementing curriculum in an operational setting.
  • Streamline leasing processes at newly transitioned assets to include promotion generation, asset marketability, lead communication benchmarks, application approval process, and move-in procedures.
  • Guide on-site teams in developing action plans that correct deficiencies or maximize opportunities to ensure the asset/portfolio meets or exceeds budget and stated goals.
  • Provide ongoing training path forward and guidance for on-site operational teams.
  • Partner with the VP of Operations to create annual learning roadmap for training content
  • Lead onboarding and ongoing training efforts for all employees with a focus on servant leadership and operational excellence
  • Partner with Operations Leadership to identify and close process gaps
  • Work closely with VP of Operations & Regional Managers to develop relevant operational training and support roll outs of new initiatives (specific to Operations) including cross functional partnerships with accounting, compliance, risk management and marketing
  • Conduct train the trainer sessions with Regional L&D Leads to roll out new content & processes
  • Leads new hire mentor program
  • Constantly work to achieve strengthened onboarding and L&D offerings to all departments and roles; collect ongoing training feedback and adapts accordingly
  • Build out development programs in support of succession planning and internal growth
  • Creative content creation and internal branding

Ideal Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in multifamily residential property management
  • Excellent management and oral presentation skills
  • Extensive experience in leasing strategy, expiration management, & renewals
  • Prior experience training property management teams

What You’ll Do

  • Identify keep skills necessary for success and design curriculum accordingly
  • Translate complex concepts and technical information into easy to understand and engaging content
  • Conduct train the trainer sessions with Regional L&D Leads to roll out new content & processes
  • Leads new hire mentor program
  • Constantly work to achieve strengthened onboarding and L&D offerings to all departments and roles; collect ongoing training feedback and adapts accordingly
  • Diversify training voices by establishing strong relationships with external experts, coordinating peer panels, and leveraging internal co-hosts
  • Host monthly toolbox talks and monthly peers calls
  • Assist with coordination for strategic offsite/summit planning and execution for various departments
  • Fully leverage our Learning Management System by building out learning pathways and ensuring annual compliance
  • Build out development programs in support of succession planning and internal growth
  • Creative content creation and internal branding

Qualifications

  • 5+ years professional L&D experience in multifamily housing
  • Bachelors in Organization Development or similar field
  • Strong experience with instructional design, curriculum strategy, graphic design & content creation
  • Skilled facilitator with strong executive presence
  • Creative, interactive approach to adult learning
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Familiarity with Canva, PowerPoint, & Teams
  • Working knowledge of Entrata, RentCafe, Property Management financial reporting
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to run with high level direction
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
