Summary:

The person holding this position will be primarily responsible for overseeing food safety, quality assurance and quality control at the Lyons facility. They will work to identify areas of deficiency and drive quality improvement. They will supervise the local quality staff to provide quality assurance to all products.

Essential job functions include, but are not limited, to the following:

· Manage the food safety program to meet requirements.

· Manage QC to assure customer satisfaction with products.

· Participate in quick resolution to customer issues.

· Identify areas of deficiency and drive improvement.

· Remain current, serve as site expert, and communicate in pertinent regulatory requirements.

· Instruct and assist with the development, documentation and control of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

· Brainstorm, promote, and drive continuous improvement in Compass quality systems.

· Plan and perform food safety and quality audits.

· Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

· Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or Quality/Food Safety. Candidates with advanced degrees may also be considered.

· A demonstrated 3-5 years’ experience in food safety and/or quality systems and tools (statistical methods, FMEA, control plans) preferred.

· Direct experience in, or administration of, quality systems (ISO 9000), GFSI/BRC, and production and laboratory procedures is desired.
