UW Medicine's Revenue Integrity Department is a shared services organization, which supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine entities include but are not limited to UW Medical Center (UWMC), Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW School of Medicine, Northwest Hospital, UW Neighborhood Clinics (UWNC) and UW Physicians.

Under the general guidance of the Director of Revenue Integrity, the MANAGER, REVENUE INTEGRITY is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing UW Medicine Denials & Write-Off mitigation project known as RevUP. In addition, the Manager will coach, mentor and develop staff, identify policy and procedural gaps to ensure UW Medicine is effectively and compliantly capturing and billing all charges related to services provided.

The Manager of Revenue Integrity will work in partnership with clinical and non-clinical departments, ITS, and across UW entities and affiliates. Working relationships must be established and productively maintained with operational department managers and senior leaders in key customer groups at UW Medicine.

DUTIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
COACH, MENTOR, AND DEVELOP STAFF
  • The Manager, Revenue Integrity is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Revenue Integrity Department, prioritizing and assigning work using a service desk management system, coaching and developing staff, and working with staff on complex issue resolution across entities.


  • MAINTAINS THE CDM BY INCORPORATING NEW CHARGES.SERVICES IDENTIFIED BY THE DEPARTMENTS, THIRD PARTY CHANGES, CMS REGULATIONS, FEDERAL AND STATE SPECIFIC CODING UPDATES
  • Coordinates meetings with department managers, staff and/or physicians regarding new program and procedure developments, equipment acquisitions and validation of charging codes.

  • Performs a detailed, annual review of the CDM that includes identifying CPT and HCPCS codes that have been deleted, added, or replaced; assigns CPT and HCPCS specific codes when appropriate,

  • Co-Chairs the Charge Integrity Work Group Meetings and agenda and identifies opportunities to improve net revenues through charge structure and capture, and system optimization.


  • MANAGES DATA BASE APPLICATIONS AND ASSOCIATED REPORT WRITERS REQUIRED TO RETRIEVE INFORMATION REQUESTED BY ERC, COMPLIANCE, CLINICAL AND FINANCE LEADERSHIP
  • Lead a team of analysts/developers who are collectively responsible for:

  • Developing technical solutions to transform revenue cycle data models and products in support customer, product reporting development efforts

  • Translate highly complex concepts into dashboards and reports that can be understood by a variety of audiences



  • COMMUNICATIONS, CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS, AND PROGRESS/STATUS REPORTING
  • Develop and maintain a service-oriented relationship with executive project sponsor(s), organization leadership, principal stakeholders, and project teams. Communications, relationship development and progress/status reporting to include:

  • Navigate interests of different stakeholder groups to deliver improved revenue integrity outcomes

  • Mentor Staff on team responsibilities, goal setting, and performance.



  • REQUIREMENTS :
  • Bachelor's degree in a health-care oriented profession, that demonstrates analytical and leadership abilities in revenue integrity, health information management, or patient access environment.

  • 6-8 years' recent experience in healthcare finance/revenue cycle management/revenue integrity

  • 6-8 years’ experience serving in a team leadership role hiring, coaching, mentoring staff

  • 6-8 years’ experience effectively working with multiple, diverse stakeholders in a complex environment

  • Excellent time-management skills

  • Experience with MS Office tools: Word, Excel, Visio, and Outlook

  • Equivalent experience may substitute for stated requirements



  • DESIRED
  • Academic Healthcare experience

  • Familiarity with multiple Epic systems modules

  • Continuous Quality Improvement training and experience leading quality improvement teams
