Summary:

The Manager, Supply Chain Technology, part of the center-led Procurement team, is a leadership position focused on leading a team of supply chain professionals focused on supporting construction teams, development, engineering, estimating, legal, procurement insurance and other groups to procure and forecast major equipment to support successful construction and development of projects.

The Manager, Supply Chain Technology leads and develops the strategic business direction of RES with the purpose of achieving competitive advantage through the application of best practices in supply management and driving overall business profitability. The position will focus on the technology supply chain related to wind turbines, solar modules, batteries, and inverters.

Requirements:

  • Creates and executes technology supply chain strategies in alignment with business goals and long-term plans, focuses on driving the supply chain function.
  • Leads key supplier engagement and negotiations focusing on providing best value for RES with a focus on solar modules, wind turbines and battery technology supply chain
  • Engages senior level teams (stakeholders) throughout the organization to ensure alignment with organizational strategic objectives and project needs. Ensures that risks associated with strategic project purchases are understood and taken to account in the supply agreements
  • Keeps up to date on major market macro (geopolitical and world events) and micro (local events) changes in the industry and reports the effects to internal leadership teams
  • Creates, evaluates and reviews opportunities to implement best practice purchasing policies, process, and procedures for continuous process improvement to support business performance that deliver value; continually identifies and implements new opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and proactively track these objectives
  • Establishes targets and oversees the management & evaluation of supplier performance.
  • Creates demand management forecast of project needs with Development team and works with suppliers to understand price and technology curves
  • Manages supplier base engagement and ensures the correct supplier mix is in place. Reports internally to stakeholders on progress of contracting efforts, shipments, cash flows and risks associated with supplier base
  • Learns and actively drives the use of the various software platforms used by Procurement including Business World, Procore, SharePoint, Hive World, ISN, etc.
  • Participates in required training and follows safety management system (SMS), quality management system (QMS), and environmental management system (EMS) procedures.
  • Tracks and monitors status of master supply agreements and the terms associated with them
  • Ensures terms that are being captured in major negotiations are being captured and communicated to upper management.
  • Quarterly update calls with key suppliers to understand head and tail winds of the industry
  • Engagement with senior leaders to communicate pricing and technology.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or equivalent degree, or military/education/relevant work experience combination
  • Master’s degree in Business or Supply Chain, preferred
  • Certification with ISM or CIPS, preferred
  • 5 years or more experience negotiating purchase orders and subcontracts, required
  • 10 years or more experience negotiating purchase orders and subcontracts, preferred
  • 3 years or more team leadership experience, preferred
  • Ability to travel 5 to 15%

Skills:

Required

  • Leadership experience managing 1 or more direct reports
  • Construction/Development procurement experience with focus on renewables, preferably related to supply of turbines, modules and batteries
  • Able to lead complex negotiations with key suppliers
  • Key supplier management experience
  • Expert knowledge of supply contracts
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, including scenarios where information is uncertain and timeframes are tight

Highly desirable

  • Expert knowledge of the renewables major equipment market and trends.
  • Knowledge of renewable construction/development industry and associated field concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Project management experience
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology

Anticipated base salary range: $119,000 - $140,000

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
